My Steel (Pvt.) Ltd. operates an in house power generation facility to ensure uninterrupted production, operational efficiency, and consistent product quality.
The company’s mill is located at Sheikhupura and covers 19,360 square yards (equivalent to 4 acres), which includes a steel melting furnace.
In addition to the existing operational unit, the company has also owned a building and a shed adjacent to its existing facility.
To ensure smooth factory operations at the facility, a dedicated Powerhouse consisting of a 3.0 MW H Furnace Oil Wartsila GENSET capable of producing 9 MW has been installed for an uninterrupted power supply
The working schedule of the manufacturing unit will be in 2 shifts per day, consisting of 12 hours each.
Steel Demand:
The government’s increased focus on infrastructure has resulted in the initiation of a series of development projects over the last two years. With more foreign projects, especially under CPEC, it is expected that the demand for steel will surge in the coming years
Subsidy:
NAYA PAKISTAN HOUSING PROJECT (NPHP) has incentivised the entire construction industry as it announced a subsidy of PKR 30 billion, urging the construction industry and investors to “take advantage of the opportunity“. This will generate the demand for steel & cement
Dependency on Steel:
The building and construction sectors in the GDP of the country are significant. Engineered goods and medical and surgical equipment consist of 20% of total manufactured goods export and rely heavily on steel inputs for providing a constant supply of raw materials.
Supply Gap:
Till recently, Pakistan’s annual demand for iron and steel was 8.4 million tonnes, whereas local production varied in the range of 3 to 4 million tonnes. To meet the demand-supply gap, the country has been importing over 4 million tonnes of steel a year. So there is room for new investments in steel industry
